£30 sponsorship will fund a session with a member of the Play Specialist team.

👋 "Hi everyone... I'm Ellie.

I'm the new Play Specialist at the Children's Cancer Unit and I'm taking part in this year's Stormont Mile....

Since joining the Haematology/Oncology Play Specialist team earlier this year, I've loved getting to see and learn all about what happens day to day on the ward and in clinic. Bringing therapeutic play to the children and young people in the Unit is amazing, and I'm delighted that through my role, we can now extend this service to weekends too, so the children can relax and have some fun on the ward, no matter what day of the week it is. This is all thanks to The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity who have funded my post.

When I heard about Stormont Mile, I signed up straight away. I felt it was important to throw myself into helping the charity, to support them, the patients, and their families in the Unit. The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity’s funding allows me to be able to provide this service for the patients and their families, allowing these children to have fun and to help ‘normalise’ being in hospital.
